My Review of the Lean Green Protein: Blueberry Muffin
I’ve been vegan for quite some time. I’ve tried just about all types of protein powder and just about all flavors. When I linked up with Doug (on social media: trainwithdoug), on Clubhouse, I learned about this new vegan protein powder and was very intrigued. Not for nothing but, not all protein powders are created equal. Some of the options are just…nasty.
I was excited when Doug gave me the opportunity to sample it. I really wanted to know if what he said: “this protein powder is like desert, it tastes just like a blueberry muffin and doesn’t contain sugar”, was true. I didn’t think that he was lying, I just wasn’t sure that I’d agree.
I agree though!!!
Lean Green Protein, Blueberry Muffin- Plain
By plain I mean, just soy milk and a scoop of the protein powder. I added nothing else. The texture turned creamy- which doesn’t always happen with vegan protein powder! I was excited, but even more so for the taste. It does taste like a blueberry muffin! I was and still am simply amazed!
The instructions ask that water be used. Water as the base keeps the nutritional figures on the product label in line. I don’t like water as the base in my shakes, so my servings had a little extra sugar, carbs, and so on. One serving if water is used, provides: 16 grams of protein, 1 gram of carbohydrates, and 2.5 grams of fat.
Lean Green Protein, Blueberry Muffin- with Blueberries and Agave
I didn’t need to add a thing but, wanted to play with the protein powder a bit. With this one, half a handful of frozen blueberries and a dash of agave. This mash up tasted like cake. It was so good- and very sweet- like cake with icing.
The mash up created a beautiful scented, blue oasis that I drank right up. It may be too sweet for some but I like cake. And love a great tasting protein powder that doesn’t remind me that I’m drinking protein powder.
Final Thoughts
I recommend it! The protein shake made with this powder is like a milkshake. Gone are the days of closing eyes and chugging nutrients. I think you’ll thoroughly enjoy it. It’s healthy as heck, great for vegans, and did I already mention- delicious?!
Vegans have waited for something like this and it has arrived! The Lean Green Protein is available in 24.44 oz containers which provides 30 servings with one scoop servings, and 15 servings with 2 scoop servings.
And it gets better! When purchasing Lean Green Protein, use code Vee555 to save 20% off your purchase.
As for Doug’s why, here it is from him:
“I’m just an African American man trying to break generational curses. My family has a history of high blood pressure and diabetes, so I’ve created a way to enjoy the taste of blueberry muffins in the form of plant protein while getting all the nutrients you need.”
