Vegan desserts are the best vegan dishes to make. The unexpected decadence and rich flavors fill the house with delicious smells and anticipation. The sweetness rounds out meals. The veganized recipes start a new discussion on the topic of health and wellness– much needed ones.
Families struggling with weight management, diabetes, and high blood pressure can benefit from switching out ingredients for lower glycemic and less processed options (like date sugar and maple syrup). The obvious absence of animal products also helps in allowing everyone (without allergies) the ability to enjoy desserts without feeling heavy or guilty.
And a popular holiday sweet- pumpkin! Aside from traditional pie, pumpkin can be baked into a number of desserts including sweet breads and muffins. These sweet offerings can be made with infused too! Yes- with cannabis! But can also be made without for a general crowd.
Veganizing desserts isn’t too complicated. Vegan butters, oils, and cream cheeses are widely available as are vegan chocolate chips for baking. Instead of eggs, opt for apple sauce (1/4 cup of applesauce = one egg in cakes / muffins) or ground flax with water for cookie recipes.
Below are vegan recipes created by us- Dom and Christina. We are mothers, cooks, cannabis consumers, and vegans- about to shake up your next holiday/celebration dessert table. The options below can be infused for that happy ending- or not infused but still very vegan.
